Job Description

The Personal Plan Relationship Consultants is responsible for building relationships with the former employees of our employer group plans, help educate and guide their members on their Personal Plan. Proactively communicate with clients, respond to developing needs, resolve issues or problems, and follow up as needed. Provides supports to your members and guide them to their retirement goal.

Key Accountabilities

Individual Accountabilities:

  • The Personal Plan Relationship Consultants are specialists who are the first point of contact by conducting one-on-one needs-based conversations over the phone for group retirement plan members currently enrolled in a Manulife group plan, including discussions about fund options, underlying investment fees, risk profile, long term savings goals/investment strategy, and explaining the benefits of group investing
  • Help plan members build their investment portfolio based on their risk profile using Manulife tools.
  • Handling all day to day transactions for their members (withdrawals / fund changes / unlocking, etc.).
  • Proactively identify consolidation needs, help guide clients achieve their financial goals; guiding them to solutions for their current situation, risk profile, time horizon, and other personal factors.

Job Requirement:

  • 1-2 years of working knowledge of Group Retirement Benefits, products, and provincial legislation
  • Licenses are not required but, working towards is a nice to have
  • Must be Bilingual
  • Ability to be highly organized
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Knowledge of GRS products and services


  • Confirmed ability to build strong rapport with their members over the phone and possess active listening skills to communicate the benefits of the Manulife group products.
  • Knowledge of Manulife Investments and Group products an asset
  • Attention to detail, self-organized in collecting accurately all members information
  • Remain current and up-to-date on wealth management products, market trends and financial planning issues.

Licenses (not required) :

  • Not required but, work towards licenses below:
  • (LLQP) designation is an asset
  • (CSC) or (IFIC) or related studies or experience considered an asset.
  • (CFP) designation is an asset
